Frequently Asked Questions:
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture is painless. As acupoints are stimulated, there can arise sensations such as heaviness, tingling, or an electric feeling as paths of energy are opened and balanced.
Are the needles clean?
Yes. Only sterile, disposable needles of high-grade surgical steel are used.
How many treatments will I need?
Each person responds differently to acupuncture. A course of treatment depends on the nature, duration and severity of an ailment. It may only take two or three treatments for an acute condition to clear, while some chronic conditions can take many more. It is quite common to start seeing results within the first six to ten treatments.
What can I expect after a treatment?
Everyone responds differently to an acupuncture treatment. Some people respond quickly and their condition may improve dramatically after only one treatment. However, it is most common to notice results after a few treatments. Relief may last a few hours or a few days, but as the body gets stronger and closer to recovering total health, results can sustain for much longer periods of time.
Why should I get acupuncture treatments if I am not suffering from a disease?
Prevention is better than cure. Nowadays, we can be very demanding of our bodies. Some days we don't even notice our bodies, and then there are moments when all we can notice are aches and pain. It is helpful to have treatments on a regular basis to maintain our health and keep our bodies strong. This way, we can better defend against illness and prevent any existing problems from worsening.
